Frequenly Ask Questions
1. What type of work can you do?
You may have a long list of repairs, but you need to make sure a full service handyman can handle it. While many handymen claim to be a jack-of-all-trades, they may not specialize in the sort of work you need. Just like you wouldn’t rely on your local gas station to perform major car repairs, you may not want to rely on a handyman for work specific to a trade. Some minor electrical or plumbing work, like fixing a light fixture or unclogging a drain, may be within the purview of a handyman. But more extensive work should be given to a general contractor. If your electrical work is done incorrectly, you could risk serious consequences, including danger to your property and even the people in your home. The same is true for plumbing. So while it may be ok to hire a non-specialist to straighten a jammed door, think twice before handing off specialized labor to a handyman.
2. Do you have local references?
Of course! Please let us know and we will supply you with reviews from past clients who have engage with Henehan Construction Design/Build.
3. Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! We are a fully licensed and insured for the past 18 years.
4. How much will this cost for both labor and materials?
Any and all of handyman projects will require a two hour minimum charge of $165 per hour plus materials. Any other item or items to be added to the handyman list will required an additional work order if the scope of work does not fit in the original two hour handyman work order.
5. How do you price your work?
All of our work is priced on a time and material basis. All material and labor cost are the homeowner’s responsibility.
6. When will the work be done?
Our handyman hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. Holiday and weekends are excluded.
7. Do you have a written agreement?
Yes. All handyman work order agreement will outline the scope of work and time allotted. Additional items can be added to the original handyman agreement with an added value change order. All added value change order are required to be signed and paid in full prior to any and all work to start.
8. Do you provide a guarantee?
Yes! All of our handyman work is guaranteed for 90 days after the final payment is made.
Finding a Reliable Handyman
There is never a reason to work with an unreliable handyman. We’ve seen plenty of customers get burned by dishonest and unskilled contractors. In our experience, contractors and handymen should always come with excellent references and a proven history of customer satisfaction. Of course, doing all the research yourself can be time-consuming. Do you research first!
